My Story
Jennifer Rivera is a dancer, storyteller, and multi-hyphenate artist with over 20 years of training.
A native of New Jersey, she grew up training in ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary at Mariann’s School of Dance, spending her summers at The Ailey School, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet School. She fell in love with theatre and acting during her time at Bergen County Academies where she seemed to almost always end up playing a man in plays and musicals.
Jennifer is a graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. She holds a BFA in dance with minors in biology and digital marketing. During her time at Point Park, she has enjoyed working with artists such as Martha Nichols, Al Blackstone, Lloyd Culbreath (as a part of the reconstruction of “Two Lost Souls” with the Verdon Fosse Legacy), Rennie Harris, Kiesha Lalama, Jason McDole, Kiki Lucas, Rocker Verastique, and more. (see resume for more)
She is proud to be the founding President of Point Park’s chapter and former national Director of Marketing for We Are Queens, a national non-profit organization, empowering dancers to redefine the starving artist myth through community building and professional development. As a multi-hyphenate, her digital marketing experience includes Social Media Manager and Web Designer for a travel agency specializing in Disney Destinations, and as a Marketing Intern with A.I.M by Kyle Abraham.
Currently, you can find her out on the sea dancing with Disney Cruise Line onboard the Wish!
As she embarks on the next chapter of her life post-grad, she is dedicated to building authentic connections through the art of storytelling and, whether through dance or design, and is looking forward to any opportunity to do that.
Mission Statement
I am an imaginative storyteller and vibrant, dynamic performer.
I am passionate about using dance, in a variety of styles and mediums, as a vehicle to explore stories which dive into the complexities of the human spirit.
I believe the inner child in each of us deserves to thrive with joy. I radiate positivity and create safe spaces to play, igniting that childlike joy in myself and others.
As both a logical and creative thinker, I embrace myself as a multi-hyphenate artist and human and work to foster communities where others are inspired and feel safe to do the same.
